Inspired Once Again by a Song

It takes a great song to shake us up sometimes; this song, "Shower the People", by the amazing James Taylor has me thinking and wondering if I take the time to tell and show my loved ones the joy they bring to me.
Sometimes I wonder if we save our "nice" selves for our workplace or even our online presence and forget to do some of our good deeds for those we see every day.  Hopefully this post will inspire you to hug your kids, look eye to eye with your partner and tell him/her how much you appreciate their love and support. In this fast-paced media-driven frenzy of a world we live in, sometimes we forget to stop and express our love. I love this song and how it will inspire me today.  Right now I am off to call my sisters, who both live way too far away.
How will you "shower the people you love with love?" Please share!

  1. How very very true! When I was teaching first grade, I felt like I was good to everyone else's kids and the dregs of me were left for my own kids. Things are better now that I'm only working with a few kids at a time! :) Thanks for the reminder!

  2. Hi Joan!

What a beautiful post. Yes, songs remind us of many things. To show our love to others is one of them and so important. Thank you for this!

I am calling my mama and papa right away who live in Greece. Or even better, I'll Skype them to show them that I am showering them with love! I'll give them a big hug through the screen!

Thank you for reminding us that we educators are humans, because we tend to forget that sometimes for the reason that we want to give everything to our beautiful profession. It is worth it definitely, but worth living like humans as well!

You are an amazing person and educator. How happy I will be if I ever meet you in person!

Sending you a big hug from Switzerland,
    Vicky
